Jasna Low Tatras is an all-year mountain tourism resort, situated in the heart of Low Tatras Central Slovakia. In winter it is the largest ski area in Central Europe. The history of the resort started in the 1950s, when the first system of cableways from North of Chopok to South was built. It covers both sides of Mount Chopok - Chopok South and North.

Jasná Nízke Tatry - or Jasna - is the largest ski area in Slovakia, with skiing on the north and south side of 2024m Mount Chopok in the Low Tatras, the biggest ski area in central Europe. And more experienced skiers can drive 40 minutes further to the Low Tatras, home to Slovakia's biggest and best ski resort, Jasna. With 29 pistes, Jasna is smaller than many Alpine resorts,. Winter season offers ski resorts, Jasna being the largest one in Central Europe; summer season is great for hiking. Up for a challenge? The main ridge is 80 km long (50 miles). Slovaks love their mountains, but only a few take heart to cross the whole main ridge at once. The route starts (or ends) in Donovaly and ends (or starts) in Certovica. Not only are these hubs of hiking and cross-country skiing trails, but Jasna is the largest ski resort in Central Europe and is served by the tourist town of Liptovsky Mikulas. Liptovsky Mikulas also offers a range of summer activities such as rafting, kayaking, boating on the lake, fishing, a hot springs aqua park and hiking. Jasna's slopes (50km of them) are spread around Chopok—Low Tatras' second highest peak. It has the reputation of a place with excellent facilities but reasonable prices. Both are true, especially the latter compared to neighboring Austria and other European countries famed for winter tourism like Italy, France and Switzerland. The resort Jasná Low Tatras, is said to be the largest ski area in Slovakia, with eight chair lifts and four cable cars. It has 49 km (30 mi) of piste, back bowl, a 6 km (3.7 mi) home-run, a brand new revamped terrain park, a great deal of off-piste (12 freeride zones), night skiing, and many tree runs.
